Surreal Cities

These are good examples from first trimester's 6th grade art classes.  They show creativity and variety of images relating to the theme.  Two point perspective is above proficient in most of the examples.  All details and buildings are lined up to the vanishing points.

Self-Portraits a la Frida Kahlo

These capture the essence of the surreal style of the great Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo.  Surrealism is a movement in art where there are elements of realism and fantasy.  The artwork has dreamlike and sometimes exaggerated qualities.

Medieval Bestiary

The above examples from last year's seventh grade students are excellent examples of medieval inspired bestiaries.  All show good use of texture, combinations of animals, diminution in the background, and gradiated value.
